Doug Ellis has been involved
with commercial real estate within Hampton Roads and the Mid-Atlantic
region since 1974. During his career, Mr. Ellis has been responsible
for the development, management, leasing and/or sale of over 16 million
square feet of commercial industrial, office, and retail space with
associated asset values estimated at over $1 Billion. His “hands-on”
service oriented approach and attention to detail have resulted in the
completion of over 60 successful commercial real estate development
projects.
In 1974, Mr. Ellis
joined Goodman Segar Hogan, Inc., headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia,
one of the largest commercial real estate firms in the Southeast. As
Assistant Vice President for Industrial Properties, Mr. Ellis directed
all Goodman Segar Hogan efforts in regard to the sale, lease and development
of industrial properties. During his tenure, Mr. Ellis sold/leased in
excess of 10 Million square feet, making him one of the top producers
in industrial real estate within the Hampton Roads and the Mid-Atlantic
regions. In 1984, Mr. Ellis joined the partnership of Robinson and Wetmore
– becoming Robinson, Wetmore and Ellis. As a partner, he was involved
in the development of over two million square feet of office, business
center, and industrial space in Hampton Roads and Richmond.
In 1987, Mr. Ellis
formed the Ellis Development Company (EDC), now Ellis-Gibson Development
Group (EGDG). His goal and objective was to concentrate on the development
of industrial properties, including: office, warehouse, large distribution
centers, and manufacturing plants. He has been responsible for the successful
development and management of over 4.4 Million square feet of commercial
real estate with associated asset values exceeding $384 Million.
